(ONUADO KOKOO COOPERATIVE COCOA FARMERS AND MARKETING UNION LIMITED (OKFU) is summarised as Group of cocoa farmers exercising of our natural and inalienable right of freedom of association, and in our desire to establish an organization which shall secure for ourselves economic freedom, empowerment and prosperity, equality of opportunity in social, cultural and political aspect of life with the spirit of apex brotherhood, friendship, cooperation, fairness, respect for humanity, environment and economic prosperity, and in solemn declaration and affirmation of our right to social and economic prosperity.
The principles that each one is a brother’s keeper and loved, the protection and preservation of human life through the cultivation of ethically quality, healthy and environmental friendly cocoa beans, and also to preserve the principles and visions of the cooperative Union)

The Aims of OKFU

To bring together cocoa and crops producers in Ghana who believe in the principles of fairness, transparency, accountability, equity, democracy, equality and dignity of human being and sell their cocoa and other crops or are committed and willing to sell their cocoa through the Onuado Kokoo Co-operative Union and its established branches.

To encourage integrated economic development by aiding members to improve production through contemporary agricultural practices with appropriate scientific techniques. Additionally to this however, is to encourage and empower members to set up small to medium personal dumping sites that seeks to serve as an organic manure for application on crops where necessary.

To instill in members good agricultural practices and environmentally sustainable cocoa production that is able to favorably and effectively compete on both the local and international markets. In furtherance, is to aggressively develop measures that seeks to vigorously and tirelessly address the phenomenon of Climate Change, climate landscaping, encourage afforestation and the conservation of our water bodies by way of mitigation and promotion of environmental sustainability in accordance with the SDG 13.

To embark on periodic and continuous training and education of the officers, agents, assigns, servants and members of the union in order to develop and effectively build their capacities to enable them carry out their respective roles in the affairs of the union efficiently.

To take advantage of trade opportunities both locally and internationally that seeks to improve the income and wellbeing of the members

To ensure there is gender equity, balance and fairness in the decision making process and management of the Union.

To increase the voice of cocoa and other crop producers in addressing the inequalities in the global trading system.

To set up subsidiaries or enter into joint ventures that further the economic and social interest of the Union and its members, such as savings and loans scheme.
